My Dandelion Wishes

Day two of Alice was just as magical as day one. We thought we had seen it all but Kim had many more surprises up her sleeves for the group. When we walked into the room Saturday am we were shocked to see that the room had been transformed beautifully with round tables. The center pieces were so pretty. At each place was our name tags and an Alice bag filled with wonderful goodies from generous sponsors. Breakfast was served which was yummy with fresh fruits, mini muffins, croissants, and fresh coffee, tea and juices. The best way to start the day. Our day started with Jamie's class a Drink Me Bottle. We had so much fun embellishing our bottles. Lots of laughter as Earleen personalized her rabbit with earrings! He was pretty cute. It is hard to believe that just a week ago I was immersed in everything "Alice". I was lucky enough to attend Kim's Alice in Wonderland Affaire at the Grand California Hotel last Friday and Saturday. It was a magnificent affaire down to the very smallest of details. I flew into OC early Friday am and met Colleen who flew in from Oakland. From then on it was a non-stop adventure full of catching up with old friends, meeting new ones and just soaking in all that Kim had up her magical sleeve. Our adventure began with shopping at 2pm. Oh my the vendors all unique had the most wonderful wares for us to see and buy. Must say I came home with a wee bit of loot. Jamie , Christine , , Kim , Holly , Joy , Lonie and Candice had beautiful tables set up with lots of goodies to purchase. We then proceeded to tea with the server sounding the chimes. My countdown to my first event of the year has started. I fly out to Cali next Friday for 2 days of frolicking in Alice's World at Disneyland. My swaps are done and forwarded to the hostesses. I have my dress and all the accessories for the Tea Party. My supplies are packed for the classes. Yes I am ready to fly away for a weekend of creating, meeting up with friends and relaxing. Then in almost a month I head back to cali for a special event A Jane Austen Affaire And finally come July once again I am heading back to Cali for a wonderful event. All reservations for planes and hotels are made and now I can sit back and enjoy these adventures. To kick off this weekend Maija hosted an evening dinner in her beautiful home. Today is Survivor Island quarterly raffle here at WSD. Amanda our Dietitian, has compiled all the patients' phosphorus levels for 3 months and those patients meeting goal were entered into a raffle for donated prizes . Amanda also focused this day on protein so we have had lots of smoothies, protein bars and rice crispy bars to sample. Our Patients are enjoying the samples while listening to the island music playing and hopefully learning about better protein supplements. It has been a good day for patients and staff Thanks Amanda The Island created by Amanda Each month the patient's phosphorus level determines if they can remain on the island or are back in the shark infested waters. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY Today has been a simple quiet day. Not much action here like yesterday. I even slept in which is so unusual for me as I am usually up at the crack of dawn drinking my coffee. It was a leisurely morning with coffee and a fresh fruit smoothie to start my day. I tackled my mental to do list and seemed to finish it in pretty good time. The weather is beautiful with a warm fresh breeze blowing in the windows and bright sunshine. My flowers and bushes are blooming and are beautiful. My bougainvillea recovering from a freeze The honey suckle rallying I even managed a long bike ride. It is very quiet in the neighborhood today so a great day for a ride. A trip to Trader Joe's for fresh fruits and veggies The house cleaned dusted and vacuumed The used soap nuts boiled and liquid soap made Laundry done It has been a good weekend.
