A quiet Saturday

So this has been a nice relaxing quiet day with me just puttering around the house and yard. Both Colleen and Kim H are out of town so that makes for very very quiet house and weekend. It was one long week at work with many a trying patient or staff incident to appease and fix. Glad it is the weekend.
Last night I joined Tina at Papervineyards crop. What a lot of fun and I was able to get a good start on one of Carol's kits. I didn't make it till 11 but I still had a great time. Thanks Tina.
If you are watching the stock market and noticed a very big dip this week and weekend it is because Colleen is out of town. I am not sure the Phoenix area can recover with her being away for an extended period of time. Colleen is off visiting her son in DC and I am hoping she gets some time for just the two of them to hang out. Can't wait to hear all the details of a certain someone that tends to monopolize all Jeff and Jim's time. I am sure there will be tales galore.
So Mystic Paper aka Sherry's weakness had a whole lot of new product delivered this week. Guess who had to just run down and see all the new goodies?? Yeap that would be me. 2 beautiful old bottles found their way into my basket as well as a few other things. I was able to catch up with Kim and Jennifer and then headed to the grocery store and home. As I said just a quiet day.

Here is the panels completed on the banner of Carol Wingert that I started last night. It is finished and hanging. Lots of new tricks in this one and I loved putting it together

So it has been a great day. Fixing tacos for dinner and cleaning up my mess is the agenda for tonight.

Love the ceiling tile book.... I had to go pick one up myself. Just when I thought I didn't need anything from Mystic Paper for a little while they do one of their posts and you just HAVE to take a trip there!

Final Goodbyes

It has been a gut wrenching sad and emotional two months for the Struchen's. We have said our final goodbyes with many tears, laughter, sadness and breaking hearts. Dad passed on Feb 25th and now Mom has joined him on March 10th.  We knew Mom was very ill but none of us expected that she would go so very quickly. And now as my sister says we are orphans.  We are still family but right now without Dad and Mom to bring us and keep us all together as they had worked so hard to do all these years. Where did the weekend go????

It doesn't seem to matter if I have 3 days off or a normal Saturday & Sunday off, it is never ever enough. Here it is already 7pm and I am getting ready for work tomorrow. Last early day and then back to the old routine. So what did I accomplish this weekend?? not too much as far as the home front goes. Just the usual laundry and clean but no yard work. Now on the creative level I had a great inspiring weekend. I rode to Payson with Earleen and Annette on Sat am for a class by the 2 gypsy girls Debbie and Paula . I had my doubts I could construct a house that would stand. Due the patience of the 2 Gyspsie Girls my house is still standing today:) I loved this class. The roof holds the little album and the clever use of the 7 Gypsy elastics made the page signatures so easy. After class we joined Annette and her family at their reunion. Invited crashers we were. Catching Up

It has been a couple of weeks since my last blog post. I thought I better get going and catch you all up on what is going on in my life. I signed up for Karla and Beth's online Romantic Gothic Ghosts. I am loving each and every tutorial. My latest is this pillow. It was actually supposed to be a tote that Beth made but I decided to make a pillow out of it. Beth's little notebook Karla's banner. Again I changed it up and hung it on a floral wreath wire thing. Not sure what you call those things The last weekend of August was filled with celebrating Miss Maija . We celebrated her 50th birthday with a surprise party that Earleen was the hostess. Annette hosted a brunch Sat am before we all headed out shopping. We came from near and far and the best thing was we all kept the secret so well. Maija was Surprised for sure.
