It's Friday!!!!!!

Yeah it is finally Friday and I have the day off. Not a day of rest that is for sure. Let's see it is 10:30 and I have already surfed the internet, raked and cleaned up the back yard, have one load of laundry in and living room dusted (not that it does any good) and mopped. Boy I am exhausted already. I made a deal with myself in setting time limits to clean and play. well so far doing ok we will see how the rest of the morning goes. Still need to go to the grocery store, fill the car up and clean the pool. Guess that means less surfing on the computer, less playing with projects and more W-O-R-K. Such is my pathetic life. I decided that even though I love my single status a man would be nice for the yard work, but then again I guess I could always hire that done. ok enough on that thought. so another busy week in recap. Worked on our response to our inspection and fed exed it out on wed yeah!!!!!! Staff meeting Tuesday went well, class on Wed at Jan's. Fun projects. Off today to get all my work done. Class tomorrow at DM and the dinner with the kids. Sunday is catch up day for all that I didn't get done today.

Jans class Wed Card, treat containers and a wall hanging I'm still working on

What I need to be doing more cleaning

And laundry

But instead I'm playing with my match box ornaments for my halloween tree Go figure

And figuring out how to get feet on my witch crow

so my time on the computer is up back to cleaning, laundry and my most favorite job going to the grocery store later!!

It's Sunday already!!!

Well here it is Sunday already and my 3 days off have flown right by. It seems that days off are shorter than work days. Maybe because I try to get so much crammed in to them. Friday I took off and went to a Resort Spa selling thing with Colleen. Now most of us know that it is a rip off!!! Not Colleen! We drove for over a hour and got there and Colleen was so angry by then that she asked for her 20 dollars back and we left. Since we were in the Cave Creek area we stopped at Mad Scrappers fun little shop with friendly staff. Colleen was on the hunt for a piece of Rusty Pickle Paper after taking a class at DM. Not there so on to Mystic Paper not there, on to Recollections not there. We ended up our night at Lowe's having acrylic cut for albums. We have enough for us and 2 very special friends. Despite the very rude man wanting service from our sales person it was a fun experience. As Colleen says just because he had $250 shoes doesn't mean he could bump in front of us! So all in all a good day. Saturday I spent cleaning, purging and sorting in my pit of a scrapbook room. I have 12 IKEA wire baskets from Colleen and managed to organize most of the stuff. Purged a huge load of unopened Disney stuff and gifted to Sandy at DM for her kids classes. Left me quite a bit more room.

So after a great nite of sleep I'm up full of energy on my last day off. I have been working on Halloween stuff for Colleen's BD celebration and for decorations for my house. Below are a few of the projects.
Tray I'm just about done with to display Witches Hats on

Match book Halloween ornament I'm working on. I want to do a swap with these. Plan is to hang on my Halloween tree

Paper mache witches boot I altered and 2 neat candles I found Friday for my table

Halloween dress for my dress colection.

Halloween cones for the special day. Not finished with these yet

Crackle Paints that I have coveted for forever. My sister went to Scrapfest in Minn and Tim Holtz released them for the first time there. I love love love these and am trying to learn how to use them. so far so good. Big THANKS Jo!!!!!!!!

Messy messy table

Ad finally the reason I'm blogging. Waiting for my gloss medium and varnish to dry. I am not patient so I thought if I blogged it could dry well. After my last experience with bees wax where I broke out in hives I decided this was a better choice. Now if this 2nd coat would just dry I could get on with my project. My crow is going to be dressed for Halloween. Wish yu were here Dad to make his/her feet out of wire. Oh well he/she may have misshapened feet!!!! But guess that goes with creepy scarey. So off to check my crow

Long day of shopping and exploring

Ok everyone grab your favorite beverage and a seat as you are in for a long post. Today Colleen and I headed up to 7th Ave for shopping. We had in mind to check out the new stores we have read or heard about. 1st up was Melrose Vintage. They had been closed for most of the summer so we were more than ready for our fix of everything vintage. The store has done lots of rearranging and had new pretties and of course someone who will remain nameless (not me) bought tons of stuff. Me I fell in love with the vintage tinsels and that is what I got. After we left Melrose it was on to Rust and Roses. I walked in just as they were putting up a 3 tiered bird thingy. Yeap I grabbed it b4 Colleen had a chance to lay eyes on it. Again the nameless person bought alot, this person was good!!!! After Rust and Roses we went next door to the cutest, cleanest little antique second hand store/house. Oh my I found sooo much but unlike someone "nameless" I didn't buy. This store was set up as if you were living there with bedrooms and kitchen and oh my so fun. She even had chocolate chip cookies, brownies, lemnade and other good treats in the kitchen How fun! and good!

My 3 tiered bird dish

I had read about Olive Annie on Megan's Lucky 15 blog so Colleen and I headed over there. Ok now this is where I caved and bought. Again a little store in a house and it is the cutest. We had a ball exploring, trying on clothes and Colleen trying to talk the owner out of everything that wasn't for sale. She was successful and scored a very old vey unique flower frog thing. The decor and little touches were so fun. The clothes, jewelry, altered items were way too cool. So....... want to see???
As you go up the steps to enter she has her cards in the cutest pan. as well as the flower frog that Colleen scored The front porch is decorated as cute as can be and when you open the door a wonderful aroma hits you from the burning candles.

2 little gift cards I bought

And this is how she wraps your purchases so fun

Da da my new dress. Love this dress from the Kara Line. It is meant to be layered with a long slip that shows at the bottom, long sleeved t-shirt, or leggings or jeans or another dress. It is so light and so fun. I had jeans with it, a beautiful slip dress with it, long sleeved tshirt but nope didn't try the leggings not sure I'm brave enogh to wear them we will see. anyway do you get the idea I love the dress??

After Olive Annie it was lunch and then we did Sage and Paris Envy. Again not me I didn't buy hee hee but someone did and the car (mercedes you all know) continues to fill! We ended the day at RJ Peddlars for the big sale and I got some photos and Colleen well lets just say I finished filling up her trunk with her purchases. It was a very good day fun fun fun

Saturday in review

Saturday was a fun filled long and in the end hot day!!!! My adventures started out with a trip to Market Square with Colleen. We lucked out and found lots of treasures for our altered art projects. Then it was to lunch at the Wildflower and then on to DM for altered book meeting and as invited guests for the run through of the classes Sandy and Michele are teaching at CKU. A little hot at DM as there was a slight problem with the air conditioning. Michelle had a great solution with the frozen water bottles to help keep us cool. We ended a great day with dinner with Sandy, Michelle and Kim at Jason's Deli. Mmmmmmm great food.

Here are a few photos of our classes and treasures for the day. As we all know I post lots of pics!!!!
Michelle's altered photo frame and the cutest tag that I somehow missed on the pic when I was taking it
1st of 2 Disney layouts from Sandy's class

2nd layout of Sandy's class
Autograph Disney Album from Sandy's class

Well this pic is out of order but oh well here is the cabinet I bought from Market Square. My plan ( I know my plans don't always work out) was to put this in my bathroom. Oops I under-estimated the size so it is in the guest bathroom and actually looks really good in there. Like I planned for it to be there
The cabinet b4 it's move to the bathroom

Lots of hankies and linen finger tip towls, sheet music, buttons and a book with children's songs in it
Michael's canvas and paper mache witch's shoe from a brief trip there. Look out for that project as I have a great idea so we will see if it turns out
So all in all a long but fun filled day with good shopping and good friends what more could I ask and no driving mishaps!!
