Thanksgiving Week

Image
Another busy week has come to an end. Or is this the beginning of a new week. Who knows. It has been a pretty good week really. Stressful at work, fun, stimulating, and creative at home. I guess you can't ask for much more. Thanksgiving at my daughter Jenn's was full of laughs and tons of good food. Jenn and John outdid themselves again this year. Classes this week on Monday and all day Saturday were full of new techniques and that was so fun. Now it is really time to kick it in gear and get my thinking cap on and plan Christmas dinner at my house, gifts, and the staff luncheon at work. Busy busy. So as is my trademark here are a week in review pics Michelle's Advent calendar at Devine Memories Saturday. Colleen kept us all on our toes and entertained with her stories. Colleen painted her muffin tin pink!! and it really did come out pretty Our next class taught by Kim was this unique wood stocking that we altered. Colleen as usual went in a different d

Saturday happenings

Boy it has been a long day today. It started at 9:30 when Colleen picked me up for our shopping adventures. Guess where we headed first?? If you guessed Starbucks you were right. After fortifying ourselves with Pumpkin Spice Latte and a cranberry blitz for me we headed to Melrose. I was so disappointed as my little pink wreaths from the last time I was there were gone but I managed to find a few things for my vintage tree that so far is in my mind. I hope it will translate to what I want when I actually start putting it together. Melrose sent us to Floe's on 7th a thrift store and I found a few more goodies. Then to Sas for some fabric and trims, from Sas it was to another thrift store called Gracies. Then to Michael's where I really scored on ornaments at 40% off yeah me. Then to lunch. I was starved by then. From Wildflower it was a quick trip to Stampworks in Chandler and then to Market Square for a run through. We ended our long day at DM for the make-n-take.

Weekly Update

Another week come and gone. Sometimes I wonder where the days go in such a hurry. It is hard to realize that Thanksgiving and soon to be followed by Christmas is upon us. I have had a pretty quiet weekend. As usual did not accomplish all I wanted but still in all a quiet weekend. Saturday was class with Crystal at Devine Memories. We did a heritage album out of a coin folder. The book is absolutely wonderful and Crystal put a lot of time in on all the small details that make this such a special book. I did my Great Grandmother Anna Struchen. I have some pictures of her but know very little about her. It was interesting to go through the old pics and find some for this album. I loved looking at the small glimpses you get of the fashion and life way back then. Below are pics of my finished album. Actually I need to add the names to the pics and then it will be truely finished. Front cover Inside page Small fold out page Other side of the fold out Anna Jensen Struchen Another

Autism Walk

Image
Well this was the big weekend for the Autism Walk at Tempe Town Lake. It was a beautiful sunny hot day!!! Colleen, Mel and her Mom, and I joined the Devine Memory family's Team and walked. Did I say it was HOT? We all completed the walk some of us in a very short time and some of us in a longer time. I bet everyone can guess who finished an hour before the rest of us. It was for a great cause and it was so nice to walk with all of Michelle's family. Colleen and I headed to Wildflower for a quick lunch to revitalize our weary bodies and then I was home. After a brief rest I am back to normal. Just a few of the pics I took. Michelle and Jenn took many more especially of the whole group so am sure they will post The sign Michelle had outside their booth Colleen and I Gonzo in the black baseball cap Pit stop with the crew The Autism shirt we received for registering for the walk. Liked the DM shirt better
