Weekly Update

Another week come and gone. Sometimes I wonder where the days go in such a hurry. It is hard to realize that Thanksgiving and soon to be followed by Christmas is upon us.
I have had a pretty quiet weekend. As usual did not accomplish all I wanted but still in all a quiet weekend.
Saturday was class with Crystal at Devine Memories. We did a heritage album out of a coin folder. The book is absolutely wonderful and Crystal put a lot of time in on all the small details that make this such a special book. I did my Great Grandmother Anna Struchen. I have some pictures of her but know very little about her. It was interesting to go through the old pics and find some for this album. I loved looking at the small glimpses you get of the fashion and life way back then. Below are pics of my finished album. Actually I need to add the names to the pics and then it will be truely finished.

Finally the long anticipated package has arrived. It was actually sent to my daughter's home. But no worries I have it now!!

And here they are 2 old wallpaper books I bought from Ebay. I so can't wait to start creating with these!!!

So there it is in pics my weekend. Back to fun things like laundry and picking up my messes

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
