A quiet Saturday

Image
So this has been a nice relaxing quiet day with me just puttering around the house and yard. Both Colleen and Kim H are out of town so that makes for very very quiet house and weekend. It was one long week at work with many a trying patient or staff incident to appease and fix. Glad it is the weekend. Last night I joined Tina at Papervineyards crop. What a lot of fun and I was able to get a good start on one of Carol's kits. I didn't make it till 11 but I still had a great time. Thanks Tina. If you are watching the stock market and noticed a very big dip this week and weekend it is because Colleen is out of town. I am not sure the Phoenix area can recover with her being away for an extended period of time. Colleen is off visiting her son in DC and I am hoping she gets some time for just the two of them to hang out. Can't wait to hear all the details of a certain someone that tends to monopolize all Jeff and Jim's time. I am sure there will be tales galore. So Mystic

An Award

Image
Kim J passed on an award to me as well as several other bloggers. Thanks Kim!!! "These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers." When you pass the award along please include these guidelines. I am to choose eight friends to share this with. So I am passing on this award to the following people, that haven't been tagged Tina Rebecca Lindsey

I was so sweetly informed that Ms Kim J had challenged me to a photo as is. We were supposed to take a pic of ourselves after reading Kim's blog. So you asked for it Kim J Here is the photo from when I got home from work. Yuck is all I can say. These are the rules: you take photo of yourself AS IS! then you get to post it and tag some other lucky people to join in. So here is the photo. I can't think right now of anyone I know that hasn't been tagged so anyone reading this go for it. Check out Kim H blog for some really sweet pics of her and the girls

Quiet Day

Image
Having a quiet day after a long busy week and an all day class yesterday. We have been in training with our new computer sysytem the last 3 days of this past week. Great system but lots to learn. Hopefully TJ has patience!!!! He, Dr L and I are the administrators. Well the 2 guys seem to have a lot more going than I do at the present. So I imagine next week will be busy continuing on to learning. The staff training is the end of March. Such fun that will be! It is finally looking like spring around here. Flowers are blooming, weeds are growing and I am sneezing. Allergies have hit hard this year. I guess weeding, raking and trimming bushes has not helped the situation. It was such a beautiful day today and it was just nice being out in the fresh air. Probably going to pay for it tonight. Weeds! I am on the attack. I made an environmental friendly weed killer and it does work just not fast enough for me. So off to the store for weed killer. The little buggers have been

Happy Birthday Dad

Capturing the fun

This has been a relaxing fun weekend with hanging out yesterday with the family. The weekend got off to a little bit of a rocky start with the bird going to bird heaven, but is ending on a positive note so far. My Internet is acting up so I have been trying to post pics for a long time. I gave up last night, but today is looking a bit more promising. Yesterday TJ came down from Casa Grande to cook for the family. After a quick trip to the store to pick up some forgotten items he began. He planned quite the menu! Jen, John and Ms S joined us. Little Mr A was rock climbing so we didn't get to see him. TJ fixed his famous Mac and Cheese which was a huge hit, Phillie cheese steak sandwiches, sweet potato fries, chicken wings and I made a crock pot cake. Cake was a bit runny and as Jen said had we had ice cream to put on it, it would have been wonderful. Following lunch the games began. They played Twist while I cleaned up. Lots of dishes to wash!!! I am proud to say that Jen won so the

Good bye Mr Bird

Image
Well this turned into a sad day. I had lunch with Colleen and when I returned home the Bird had died. I found him in the bottom of his cage. I guess he finally got too old. We had had him for about 17 years. So it is so quiet here tonight. He was my watch dog and would screech to the high heavens when anybody came to the door or came in the house. I will miss all of our little squabbles, his singing over my Cd's, his personality.

It's About Time

No I haven't fallen off the face of the earth and yes all is well. I just haven't been in the mood to blog lately. Guess I have a touch of spring fever!! Not a whole lot new here these days. Work, eat sleep and that is about it. Wednesday was Stampin Up club at Jan's. I think we spent more time talking and getting caught up. Poor Jan, I sure bet she wished we would shut up and work. We did have many laughs over all Colleen's stories. Below are the beautiful cards we made. Tuesday was a big day in the Struchen Family. My nephew welcomed his first born son into the world. Kaiden Hunter arrived safely surrounded I hear by many family members. My brother Scott is one proud grandfather. This makes the 3rd great grandchild in the family. Two boys and one girl is the count so far. My Dad holding his newest great grandchild Last Saturday we treked to Mystic Paper and grabbed the new Claudine Hellmuth paints. Oh my are they nice. I am loving playing and mixing col
