Memorial Day Weekend

Image
Since my Dad was in the Navy, I thought this was an appropriate vintage post card for the day. Wishing everyone a safe Memorial Day Weekend honoring those who have gone on before us. Remember all those who have lost their lives protecting us and allowing us our freedoms.

BBQ

Today despite or in spite of the heat we gathered to BBQ and celebrate our families birthdays and Mothers day and about anything else we could think of. We meaning TJ and Sadera and Anthony braved the heat and did hamburgers and hot dogs and turkey burgers on the grill. They all looked like little lobsters when they came in. TJ and I had made his famous mac and cheese, and there was potato salad, cole slaw, wings, corn on the cob, lemon pie and fresh strawberry short cake. Enough food to fill us all up and then some. Following our big meal it was game on. Anthony wanted to play Take a Trip so bad so we started with that one. Now I have said before we are competitive especially the guys. Well Anthony plotted and plotted but alas although he had long lines of his trains it was Daddy John who finally won the game and the longest train trip. From there we moved on to Catch Phrase and finally Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader ah no we are not! It was a great day and Jen, John and the kids

Happy Birthday TJ

Happy Birthday TJ to a loving, easy going, fun loving son, brother and uncle. We all love you It is hard to believe that 34 years ago today my middle child TJ was born. He was the easiest pregnancy, easiest delivery and the calmest laid back baby. Tomorrow is our family celebration for TJ's birthday. We decided on a good old fashioned BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, corn on the cob and a few desserts. It should be a fun day.

Winding Down The Dreaded Week

Another birthday come and gone. Just one birthday left to celebrate this month and that is TJ's next Saturday. Whew 3 birthdays and Mother's Day all in 3 weeks has kept us all hopping. My dreaded another year older big milestone birthday was Wednesday. I was not looking forward to it at all. In fact to say I was dreading it was an understatement. But Wednesday came and was a wonderful day and not as depressing as I had anticipated. I answered the phone to Colleen singing Happy Birthday and got to talk to her for a few minutes before I left for work. Claudia and Peggy had decorated my office with a banner and flowers and chocolate cake. What a wonderful surprise when I arrived at work. TJ had delivered a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers to brighten my day and Eleanor brought in beautiful roses and brownies. It was a great day. My folks sent me Kindil gift card and yeap I have two more books loaded. My list is growing. Thanks Mom and Dad. After work I headed to Jan's for our m

Party! Party! Party!

Happy Birthday Sadera!!!! After Anthony's game it was time to get it into full gear for Sadera's scrap booking Birthday Party. We had put together goody bags filled with fun scrap booking and craft things for the girls to work on. Our goal was to give them projects and let them go all out in their own directions. The girls had so much fun and their creations were unique and awesome. I had made them baseball caps and aprons and they loved those. Jen had baskets that we filled with glue, tape runners, stickers, rubons, the cricut was ready, paints, stamps and the girls absolute favorites decorative scissors. They loved them and I think every pic was cut out using them:) We used the little Epson Picture Mate to print group pics and individual pics for the girls while they were there. It was a fun, loud, scrapping party and how appropriate we did it on NSD too. The Group in their aprons Their caps The birthday girl. Note how they all put their aprons so low. Too funny The complete

Baseball, Baseball, Baseball

Saturday was the 1st game that I attended for Anthony. He has found a good fit in sports for him. Anthony has tried soccer, swimming and other sports but this seems to be the right fit. He loves baseball. So bright and early I headed to Jennifer's to join the family for a morning of baseball. We got all set up in the SUN and found out the game was postponed till 10.00. Jen and I needed to finish up last minute preps for Sadera's party at 4 so we watched them practice for a bit and then headed out to Michaels. Jen went back with my camera to capture some pics with my new zoom lens. So of course here you go presenting Mr A playing ball. Oh ya his team is the Reds. And the white blur on the phots is the fence. The hit Running the bases Sliding in to home. Don't all little boys slide in to home??
