The week-end is coming to an end

I am feeling kind of down. My weekend will soon be over and it is back to work tomorrow. I didn't get as much accomplished as I wanted to, but on the other hand I got to be creative and shop. I stayed home Friday and did get the laundry and some light cleaning done. Played with the apron I am altering off and on all day. It is giving me fits but I will get it put together eventually:)
I waited all afternoon for Colleen to call as she had an appointment at the cardiology clinic. Well she called and sounded horrible. The test did not go well at all and she had a bad reaction to the medications. How she made it home I have no clue and she was supposed to call me if she didn't feel well and I would drive her home. Oops she felt so bad she didn't even know she had driven home. That's Colleen!! We were invited to a crop and Colleen was just not well enough to go so after making her promise to check in with me I headed out.

What a fun evening we had. Yummy salads from Chick-a-fillet and bread sticks from the restaurant next to Paper Vineyards. We were all tired but managed to make it to the end. Very little cropping but lots of talking as we got all caught up on what everyone had been up to. Tina had had a bad week, Kim had sick kids all week so I think we were glad to just relax and chat. I got a little bit done on my newest kit from Carol W.
The 3 of us scrapping, talking and talking and talking!

Colleen felt better Saturday so we made our routine Saturday trip to Starbucks and Mystic Paper. Kim J had some encouraging news about the situation with DAM and was relaxed and a happy camper. From Mystic it was a quick trip to ETC where we ran into Carol W and got all caught up. And as a bonus we were able to see our February Creatologie kit. It is so beautiful.
TC's was next on the agenda as Colleen was looking a bit pale and need caffeine and food:) of course I needed a little sustenance too
Paper Studio was next on the agenda. I found some beautiful papers and a stamp. Last stop was the art store so Colleen could pick up this bizarre looking brush. Have no clue what you do with it well you paint with it but have no idea what it will look like when she is done.
Home we went both of us tired out.

I have had the bug to scrapbook again. I think it has been close to a year since I last scrapped. I had picked up a layout at ETC so today I put it together, finished up a follow the leader kit from a long time ago and put together one other one. I am in the groove. Just finished printing out some more pics so I am off to create more layouts.

Here are 3 layouts so far. Kim H do you recognize one of your follow the leader layouts

Strange week=Stranger Saturday

Well this has been a strange week, but yesterday topped what I call strangeness. My day started out as any usual Saturday, Colleen arrived and Starbuck's and coffee was our destination. Day started well, coffee was scrumptious and conversation great as we got caught up on what we had been doing for the past week. From there on bizarre and unusual and strange set in!!
We headed to our favorite destination Mystic Paper. Kim was there to greet us and direct us to the downstairs where Rick was pricing his goodies. We both scored some bottles and hardware. Great finds. Then upstairs to find the shoe buttons we headed. Love the shoe buttons and I bought quite a few among magazines that came highly recommended by Mike, and of course Graphic 45 papers. I am hoarding them. As we were standing at the counter visiting with Kim and Rick and checking out magazines flew off the shelf and to the floor. Now noone was anywhere near the shelf. Bit bizzare and we jokingly said the ghost was out and creating mischief. Come to find out from Kim the little devil had been busy this week while Kim and Jennifer were in the store. Love the ghost stories. Would I be there at night alone oh NO
From Mystic it was to Sally's to pick up fabric and trims for a project and then to TC's for lunch. Here comes the second unusual. We had just ordered when I looked up to quietly see the Mesa Fire Dept and Paramedics coming into our area. Oh oh. Seems a little elderly lady was having some problems and they worked on her very quietly and transported her as quickly as they could. I felt so sorry for her family as they were in shock and so upset. Shortly after they left our lunch arrived without further incident.
Next we headed to Merchant Square where I am thinking ok two things have happened this should be nice and normal and easy. WRONG!!!! Our sweep of the antique store started out normal, but soon changed. Colleen and I were actually kind of staying together which is unusual in itself. We were looking at aprons made out of pillow cases and dresses out of quilt pieces when some whacked out lady attached herself to us and started talking. Me, I went on my way Colleen engaged her (hindisght says wrong move) so for the next 1 1/2 hours I am merrily going up and down the ailes and Colleen is still visiting. I think Colleen knows this ladies whole life story and how she is connected to royality, Obama, and God knows who else. I was so tired I finally interrupted them and told Colleen I was checking out. Colleen followed and her friend also followed. She was as we say attached at the hip. I was afraid she would follow us out but Colleen managed to leave her inside. The funniest or maybe not was Colleen needed to use the restroom but didn't want to go as she was afraid whacko would follow her there too.
We had a good laugh when we were safe and sound in the car.
Fun, weird, bizzare day. You would think it was the 13th instead of the 14th.
Today I am sewing which I haven't done in a long time working on a gift and on my altered apron for Mystic. Colleen, John, and Carol Jew are participating in the Parkinson Walk for Roy. Pretty cold day for that.
So here are pics from the week. Sorry this has been a long post and now you must endure all the pics.

Week in review and a Saturday Brunch

This has been a fairly quiet week with less drama and friction than the previous weeks. Things seem to be calming down a bit. Wednesday nite was our monthly Stampin Up class at Jan's. As usual we had a ton to catch up on and it took us a bit to get going but we managed to finish our two cards and little treat box despite all of our talking.
Cards and treat box

I was able to stay home yesterday and actually accomplished more than usual. Cleaned, laundry and making Valentine Treat bags for family and staff. Yeah me.

Today was brunch at Mystic Paper. What a fun morning this was. Jennifer made Quiche and it was simply wonderful. Ellen did the muffins and again yummy. Kim J has been so sick with pneumonia plus the loss of her beloved Maverick, but she was there too. It was so fun seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Kim H even beat Colleen and I there. Hey what is wrong with that picture as usually Colleen is the first to arrive:)
We were served wonderful teas and we got to choose the tea cup we liked and it was a gift to us. How fun and special was that??? Kim H had a very unusual tea from Africa and it was yummy. I had a blackberry and it was also very good.

This was a really fun morning plus the added bonus of the new Graphics 45 and Jenni Bowlin being in the store. What more could we all ask for.
Thanks Kim J, Jennifer and Ellen for a wonderful brunch, good food and great conversations

Half time

Well it is half time and not quite where we want to be, but I have faith the second half will be better!
Today has been a quiet day, just kicking back. Jen, Ms S, and Mr A dropped by to help with my taxes and they are done yahoo. We had a good visit. Then they were off so Jen could do her run and the kids needed to get ready for their super bowl party.
Being of sound mind (not so sure) I needed to run to the grocery store. I figured 2 pm would be a great time WRONG. who would have thought that there would be millions of people rushing around the store to get beer and chips. I and everyone else in the store witnessed several couples having melt downs. Who knew men could be so picky about beer chips and wings. Well guess what they were. Really screaming at your wife over chips is a bit much. So I made my few purchases and got out of there and came home to stay. Now I am cheering on the Cardinals.
Finished up Little Pink Studio "Pocket Full of Valentines. Great kit and so fun to put together.

Here are the 5 Valentines

And the little pocket they go in

Colleen posted all her goodies she found yesterday on her blog. I missed half of what she bought. Go check out her blog
So back to work tomorrow and the start of another week
Off to watch the game. Go CARDINALS
