Oh where have the last 2 weeks gone??

Wow the past 2 weeks have just flown by. Between working some crazy hours at the unit, getting a BBQ pulled together for Warren (leaving after 8 years with us) and helping my sister get ready for my folks 60 th anniversary time is flying. But.. surprise surprise I managed to take a class in between all this.

Warren has been with WSD for 8 years and has been a steadfast, loyal employee. He will be missed by our patients and staff. BBQ we had for him was perfect as we actually got to sit and chat for a long time. I wish him good luck at his new job and with his new endevor Liberal Christian Trio.

Jennifer and John and kids are doing great just so busy working and lots of activities with the kids.

And lastly a surprise visit from Colleen with Mr Rooster now residing in my home. Love my rooster Colleen and the parrot does
NOT like the rooster. If the parrot gets too loud I sit the rooster next to him and he suddenly shuts up Love it
So on to another week finishing up projects, a class, and hearing all the details of the Germany wedding. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Catch ya all later

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
