The Celebration Continues

This has been a week of celebration. Thursday was being treated to yummy food and BD cards by the staff, Friday was a special lunch with Earleen, Annette and Kelli.
Today was time for family. We met at the Elephant Bar for lunch. We had Sadera's, TJ's and my birthdays to celebrate and Mothers day to honor. Our lunch was the best. We started with coconut shrimp, calamari and artichoke dip and chips. We each had a yummy main courses and the finale was creme brulee for the adults and ice cream sundaes for the kids. We left happy and stuffed.

This has been such a special week and one I will remember for a long long time.
I am looking forward to relaxing and staying in my PJ's all day tomorrow. I am certainly enjoying all my flowers cards and gifts. Thank you to all of you that helped me celebrate another year.

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
