Here they are

This was a fun filled week of unique classes. Tuesday nite was Kim's class "Write it down" We made a small journal to keep resolutions/goals in for the year 2007. Saturday was an all dayer. Good groups of fun people in both classes. First thing Saturday morning was the "BLING" book. Kim did a great job of blinging this mini album. Fun times. After a quick lunch Michelle taught her 2007 calendar book. Another really great and fun project. Both classes had lots of stamping and embossing. Really got all of our creative juices flowing.
Mean while I decided to join Kim and do the quote of the day journal. Now I'm already behind but I do have the quotes written down and need to figure out what format I want to put them in. This is a more personal journal so I decided to not journal on my blog. Iwant to do an altered art journal. We will see how this works out. The site is called Fancy Simple blogspot. Check it out it is inspiring.
Now the other thing I have taken on is Ali Edwards "word". She challenged us to come up with a word to be our guide, mentor throughout the year. It is a word that speaks to us in a special way. I had 3 words in mind : Simple, Connect, or Invest. Finally after much thought decided on INVEST

INVEST:
  1. In me: spiritually, emotionally, physically and finacially.
  2. In enthusiasim for my job (have lost that this past year)
  3. In relationships with family
  4. In relationships with friends
  5. In my love of creativity
  6. In TIME

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
