Celebrating

Today was all about celebrating Anthony's 8th birthday. He was born on the 8th of Dec. We had to postpone dinner till today due to many commitments and scheduling difficulties. Pretty much Anthony has had a celebration every week since his birthday. Not bad.
We all met up at Carrabba's for lunch. It had been awhile since we had all gotten together. Lots of stories, catching up and tons of laughter. As usual Uncle TJ had come up with the best gift a remote controlled tarantula. You could just see the thoughts spinning in Anthony's eyes of who or what would be the victim of the creeping spider. I have a feeling Sadera mite be the recipient of a creepy crawly on her when she is asleep and I just know the cats are going to be chased around too.

After our meal I was able to finish up a bit more shopping. I am down to just one more person shall we say the most difficult one TJ!!!!!!!
Hopefully I will be able to get done tomorrow. Looking forward to the family being here on Christmas Day

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
