A Simple Quiet Sunday

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY


Today has been a simple quiet day. Not much action here like yesterday. I even slept in which is so unusual for me as I am usually up at the crack of dawn drinking my coffee. It was a leisurely morning with coffee and a fresh fruit smoothie to start my day. I tackled my mental to do list and seemed to finish it in pretty good time. The weather is beautiful with a warm fresh breeze blowing in the windows and bright sunshine. My flowers and bushes are blooming and are beautiful.

I even managed a long bike ride. It is very quiet in the neighborhood today so a great day for a ride.

It has been a good weekend. Tomorrow starts another week with lots to complete and accomplish. But what a great weekend it has been. Family food fun nothing better

I drove all the way to Mill and Southern today for a Dutch Mocha coffee!!!

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
