Monday nite excitement in Casa Grande

As you all know Monday nite was monsoon storms. Casa Grande where I work was hit really hard and we lost trees and huge garbage recycle bins. Here are the pics I took this am when I got to work Unfortunately I wasn't paying close enough attention and uploaded them backwards oh well you can see the damage

so TJ, Warren and Elisa cut up alot of the branches and we have people coming tomorrow to finish it off. We were lucky and still had electricity today. Poor Claudia lost hers last nite when the winds snapped all the power poles on Arizola. No sleep last nite for her and hot to boot. Predicting more storm possibilities tonite oh yeah

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
