Back to class

Well it isWednesday and we are back to classes. Tonite was our monthly Stampi Up class with Jan. Jan had been to Stampin Up convention and she had lots of goodies to show us. Tools, stamps, and hundreds of cards. Colleen and I just groaned as Stampin Up has come up with a new paper cutter and Jan let us play with it. Yeap all of you that know Colleen and I know we want it. We played and played and it is NICE SWEET and to DIE for. Nope didn't order it yet, but.... It cuts paper into such thin strips that you can thread them into a needle. Jan saw them do this. I managed really thin strips but didn't try the needle trick. 5 year blade guarantee what more could a girl want?? The little thin strips on the heart card were cut with the new cutter. Anyway new cards using the new stamps. Have to have the words background and the label set in the box. Loved that set. So below are the cards and the 3 holders we made.

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
