A Beautiful Cool Sunday

What a beautiful cool day with a gentle breeze blowing. The sun is bright but is is not hot a perfect fall day. This weather puts me in the mood for hot chocolate, soups, casseroles and anything pumpkin.

I made a quick well sort of quick trip to the store and came home with enough food for 2 weeks. I got busy and made up the main course meals so hopefully it will make dinners easier in the evenings when I am tired and don't feel like cooking.

Believe it or not I am almost done putting things away and straightening up my house. I still am working on my three class projects and will post pics when they are done. Despite adding a few more very necessary things yesterday when Colleen and I made a trip to Mystic to get some fun stamps and then to Ikea. Let me tell ya wrong day for IkEA they were having a big sale and it was packed.

I still have a few more photos to share of our swaps at Artistic Affaire. Jessie hosted a house and cigar box swap and Joy and Kelly hosted a canvas swap. All were fun and I have 5 beautiful houses to hang, a Halloween canvas that I love and is hanging and a beautiful box filled with buttons, lace and bling and some beautiful cards.

Wish we had a "Mystic" in our town! You always talk about that place!

Love all those houses! So much variety, but all darling and unique.

And I agree, these early fall days are so beautiful, nights are too, the full moon tonight is splendid!

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
