It's a mess!!!



Well today is the day. I finally decided enough is enough and I need to get busy and get started on the painting. I decided to paint the kitchen cupboards. Well this is turning into a bigger job than I had anticipated. I picked an oliveish type green and a buttery yellow for the cupboards. Here is a selctive picture so far. Notice I say selective as I am not showing you the bigger mess. In the process of painting I'm also cleaning out the drawers and cupboards. Yeap just like me jump in and create a big mess. The colors are wonky on here and don't look true but you get the idea. Home Depot has everything ha ha I found the tile for the 2nd bedroom and hallway and that is pretty true to color. so break is over and back to painting cupboards it is so fun!!!

looks good so far! you've got a ton of work done! and on the positive side you don't have others digging thru your kitchen and drawers while your painting! i took that battle on about 4yrs ago. it's very time consuming! the outcome is worth it in the long run! don't be too tired for tomorrow though!

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
