It is swap time again



It has been at least a month since I have participated in any swaps and classes have been few and far between. We(Colleen and I)are keeping our pledge to be fiscally responsible. That is a hoot huh??. Sooooo I decided to host a vintage nursery rhyme tag swap for some of the creative friends I met through CIB and different classes I have taken. I am really excited and am waiting on two more people to respond yes or no. Then all the final details will be mailed to the ladies and the fun will begin.

In honor of hosting this swap, I just had to try to make a tag for the blog. Well 3 days later and my frustration with Elements 5 is way beyond reasonable this is as good as it is going to get. I threatened to unload elements many times in the past few days. anyhoo here it is.

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
