Last Altered Art Book Club Meeting

Today was our last gathering and final exchange for our Altered Art Book. What a fun fun day. We all met at Victoria's house for potluck and then our book exchange. It was sad and fun at the same time. Sad as this was our last meeting and good that we have our own books back. We also celebrated Barbara's Birthday at the meeting and then Collen and I had a celebration belated for Beth's birthday that was July 22nd.

Yeap these loaded out of order but this was our gift from Victoria a little felt person that we made 3 different types of beads for her scarf. and I have to get them on her scarf. Love my little felt person. In fact I am thinking she will adorn my Inspiration Journal.

Colleen made each of us a collage box. I didn't get pics of the rest of them but they all contained items that were unique to each of us

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
