I was too late to start this last week, so this is my week one of A Simple Woman's Daybook. Kim started hers last week. Check her blog for her update. I thought this would be a great way to journal everyday thoughts and happenings.



FOR TODAY Monday June 29,2009

Outside my window...It is dusk and the sky has so many clouds...no rain just wind

I am thinking...that time is short till a good friend leaves

I am thankful for... my health, my family and a special someone in my life

From the kitchen...Made 12 jars of peach jam tonight after work

I am wearing... my PJ's the old ratty ones the ones that are the most comfortable

I am creating...nothing.lost that mojo lately lots of ideas but no go

I am going... to bed soon

I am reading...Sunday's at Tiffanys

I am hoping...this headache leaves by morning

I am hearing...music softly from my CD player

Around the house...things are out of place and cluttered and I am ok with it

One of my favorite things...quiet time before I go to bed

A few plans for the rest of the week: Wed nite class, Bountiful Baskets Sat & the 4th

Here is picture I am sharing... Sun ripened fresh peaches make my house smell so good

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Below are the photos of our stockings and a little thank you I sent to each of the gals. The stockings are in no particular order just how they came up on the computer. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
