A busy day

Another busy day for me. I met Colleen at Mango's in Mesa for lunch. Good food, but it was so hot in there I thought Colleen and I would die. After lunch we headed to our class at Mystic Papers. Colleen really wanted to take this class as it was an Asian tag book and a friends tag book. Long class.
Surprise on my doorstep when I got home. My Scrapmuse monthly scrapbook kit arrived complete with the much anticipated candy bar. I get one candy bar a month when my kit is delivered. Now it is hot here so I will leave to your imagination the condition of the candy bar. I threw it in the refrig so hopefully it will recover from liquid to a somewhat misshapen bar. A really good kit as usual and there are stamps which is new for me. Apparently this is not a new thing and stamps and inks are often included in the kit. Lots of paper. I know I need more paper. So off to put it all away.

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
