More Friday ramblings

My day started with breakfast at IKEA with Beth and Colleen. My IKEA find of the day is these storage tins. 2 for 6.99 How can you beat that I ask. And I do have lots of stuff to store!
We were looking for the SHE book, couldn't find that but did find these wonderful figures with great sayings. The Mermaid is hanging from the bathroom mirror and the other 3 have yet to find a resting place to my liking. I think they will move frequently in the next few days.


On to Michaels to find some stenciling stuff and paint. But look what I found. These folders (6 of them) came in a pack and I think they will make a great album. I have a picture of it in my head so lets see if I can get it to work. I also got the little notecards to use as journaling tags.

And that was about the extent of my day. Lunch at Crackers. A run to Target to find the elusive document boxes, and of course Costco which I already posted about and am now home. Ready for a nap or something.

No other adventures are planned this weekend. Lay low scrapbook and clean the POOL.

oh my i love the folders!!!!!!!!!!!! where in michaels did you find them. i was just there the other night and didn't see anything like that. dang i want a set of those.!!!!

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
