Just a run of the mill hot week

Nothing really new and exciting to share with all of you. It has been a typical work, eat, sleep kind of a week. The weather has been hot and dry with no rain in site. Wishing for lush green and cooler temps. I am afraid that is not happening right now.

I am officially on cat duty while my daughter and family have been in San Diego all week. So I am feeding and watering the little felines. They seem to be happy to see me these days. Guess they are bored without family to entertain them ha ha. Usually they won't have a thing to do with me but these days I am greeted at the door as I walk in.

Today it is Bountiful Baskets so am wondering what I will be eating for fruits and veggies this week. It is organic week. Need to pick up my order early this am. Then home to get ready for lunch with a friend. Looking forward to that.

Wednesday night was an extra class at Jan's house for Stampin Up. We completed a beautiful card, 2 containers for treats, flower pops and got to play with Stampin Ups new home decor line. Loving the vinyl stuff.

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
