Progressing.........

The time was way way past due for a new roof for my house. So after getting estimates and deciding on the right fit for me they started working at 5:30 am Tuesday. Work seems to be progressing well and I am so pleased so far.

Day 1 Tuesday Aug 18,2009 they arrive, the shingles come off and we are on our way to a new roof


Day 2 All shingles gone and black paper is on both sides of the roof

Shingles have arrived on day 2 Huge truck with a conveyor belt to take the shingles to the roof pulled into my yard. And yeap they are as close as it looks to my living room window

Day 3 shingles are on patio roof and part of the back side of the house :)

Wed nite was a special extra class at Jan's. We constructed cute little boxes to hold Halloween treats. Fun times.

So tomorrow is Friday this week has amazingly flown by. Looking forward to a crop tomorrow evening and then a quiet weekend

The Stockings Were Hung

I hosted a small group for a Christmas Stocking Swap. I kept the group small due to my time and work constraints and deadlines I was facing. My idea for the swap came from a wonderful online class I took with Nancy Maxwell James of Sugar Lump Studios . I really enjoyed her class and all her helpful tips and so the idea was born. I assigned secret partners, to each of the members as well as a Dec 10th deadline. Christine suggested we all wait and open our boxes on the same day. So today is the reveal. The stocking are gorgeous and it has been fun as the photos came in to see how each of us interpreted the theme. We designed and filled our stockings with goodies and then mailed to our partner. Today: Chaos, Cooking, Cleaning and Creating

What a day. I think I put the "Labor" into Labor Day. After yesterday, where I basically sat all day I needed to get going. And get going I did. From laundry to cleaning to grocery shopping to creating I have had a busy day. I have decided that what I eat sucks. I rarely cook a good meal and then at bedtime I am back to starving. So in my great wisdom I decided I needed to get with it and start fixing better meals for myself. Cooking for 1 is not the most inspiring thing. I am so used to cooking for larger groups and I tend to make too much. any how armed with a list for the grocery store and determination I headed out. I shopped and shopped, loaded all the groceries into the car and unloaded all the groceries from the car when I got home. From there it was a whirlwind of mixing and making my meals for the week.
